Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our
products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.
Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that
support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our
Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life
cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Reliability,
System Safety, and Supportability.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Principal
System Safety Engineer to join us on the Naval Powers (NP) System
Safety team in Tucson, AZ.
As a Principal System Safety Engineer , your responsibilities will
include:
Leading one or more MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety
programs
Performing MIL-STD-882E System Safety Program tasks and analyses,
or customer's approved equivalent
Coordinating with customer safety representatives to gain safety
approval from appropriate Safety Review Board authorities
Performing System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or Design
analyses
Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of
the safety approval process
Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses
relevant to the System Safety program
Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math
(STEM) and minimum 8 years of relevant Systems Engineering or
Safety Engineering experience . An advanced degree may account for
additional years of experience as required for this position.
System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or
Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety
Engineering.
S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start
date. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience with DoD System Safety Programs
Ability to solve complex problems by leveraging available resources
and research material
Strong interpersonal and project management skills, with the
ability to manage a safety program and provide direction to
supporting safety personnel
Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics
(STEM)

obtain a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication
Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense,
handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. RTX
